The Bowman Society honors the legacy of Dr. James E. Bowman, BSD’s first tenured African American professor. The Bowman Society brings the University community together to focus attention on scholarship that is important to the health care of minority communities.
Public Health Sciences Lecture Series
Departmental seminars meet once per week, generally Wednesdays at 3:30 – 5:00 p.m., from the first to tenth weeks of the Fall, Winter and Spring quarters. There may be occasional seminars during the Summer quarter. Unless otherwise specified, presentations will be held in the medical center, Room W229 of the Albert Merritt Billings (AMB) building.
Chicago Booth Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation
The Rustandy Center holds events globally tp provide insights into how the social sector operates and how to solvie complex problems.

Outcomes Research Workshop
Center for Health and the Social Sciences (CHeSS)
Unless otherwise indicated, ORW sessions will be held on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-9:45 am in Room H300 (also known as W300). Access is easiest from Goldblatt entrance to the Medical Center at 860 E 59th Street.
Demography Workshops
The Donald J. Bogue Demography Workshop is held on Thursdays from 12:30 – 1:50 p.m. in NORC Seminar Room 232/233, located on the 2nd Floor of the Harris School of Public Policy at 1155 East 60th Street.
Healthcare Delivery Science & Innovation Lectures
HDSI hosts monthly Journal Clubs and Educational Forums as well as the annual Quality and Safety Symposium. Additionally, HDSI co-sponsors events with various departments throughout the year including Grand Rounds, Outcomes Research Workshops (ORWs), and Health Outcomes Progress and Evaluation (HOPE) Seminars.

Workshops are held on Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm in Room H300 (also known as W300). Access is easiest from the Goldblatt entrance to the Medical Center at 860 E. 59th Street. HEW is on hiatus until the Fall 2019 quarter resumes.
